A DREAM BORN FROM THE STARS, ALONG THE ANCIENT PATH OF THE GOLDEN MILE
An elegant villa from the early twentieth century, finely restored to welcome guests in a unique atmosphere. The property preserves the historical charm of its Liberty-style architecture, blending it with modern comfort. Constellations – always a symbol of travel and guidance – become the guiding theme of a project that combines hospitality, memory, and creativity.
Just steps away from the evocative Granatello, the romantic small port of Portici, and situated on the ancient road known as the Vesuvian “Golden Mile” – the historic stretch connecting Naples to Torre del Greco, lined with magnificent eighteenth-century villas – L’Astro d’Oro is in a privileged position to discover the beauty of the seafront, walk through the historic streets of Portici, easily reach the Herculaneum Archaeological Ruins in just 10 minutes by car, and experience the magic of the Gulf of Naples.
L’Astro d’Oro is not just a place to stay, but a sensory experience: a starry sky to be fully experienced, starting from the history of the past with a gaze turned toward the infinite.
The Stars
Every detail has been designed to evoke the magic of the starry sky: from the midnight blue of the common areas to the light, bright shades of light blue of the apartments. The walls of the Reception and the indoor Hall are hand-decorated with original works inspired by the constellations, created by a contemporary artist exclusively for L’Astro d’Oro.
The Frescoes
L’Astro d’Oro is a Luxury Guest House born from a love for art, beauty, and hospitality: a continuous dialogue between architecture and contemporary art. The constellations—which have always guided travelers—become here the common thread of a residence where intimacy, relaxation, and suggestions that invite one to look upward, toward the infinite, meet. All the walls of the common areas are embellished with handmade frescoes created using the ancient technique of gold leaf decoration. The design is traced by hand, then an adhesive varnish is used to apply a delicately brushed gold leaf. The author Marco Mazzocchi and Studio Gallotta di architettura were inspired by ancient prints depicting themes of constellations and Zodiac Signs, then reimagined them in a modern key with Art Deco influences and geometric lines.

The design
All architectural details are inspired by celestial curves and vaults, in a harmonious sequence of arches and fluid lines that characterize every space. Soft shapes can be found in every detail, from the headboards of the beds to the custom-made and artisanally personalized kitchen furniture. On the doors and external frames of the villa, symbolic stars appear in relief as friezes, with a refined three-dimensional effect that recalls the celestial theme and enhances the elegance of the lines.
Breakfast
A tasty and plentiful buffet breakfast with local products is served in the magnificent common room. Our standard selection includes pastries, coffee, hot drinks, fruit juice, fruit, and spreads. This room is also available for small private events upon reservation.
We recommend tasting the original Moka coffee to experience an authentic Neapolitan home.
For greater privacy, it is possible to choose the breakfast service in the room.
